Site journal
A daily log of the work done on each site.
Case study / Construction
A site management system for construction: projects, labour attendance and wages, materials, expenses and site issues, with a weekly site report sent on WhatsApp.

01 / The story
BuildTrack is used by construction contractors in Lakshadweep to keep track of their sites: the work done each day, the labour on site, materials and expenses.
Work happens on sites where the mobile signal comes and goes, so a system that needs the internet to save an entry would not work. They also needed wages worked out from daily attendance, and a weekly picture of each site without writing it up by hand.
The day's work, attendance and materials are saved on a phone even with no signal, and sync when it is back online. Wages are worked out from attendance, and one click writes the weekly site report, ready to send on WhatsApp.
02 / What we built

Also in the system
03 / More work

Teachers mark attendance on their phones, and the list of absent students is ready for the parents' WhatsApp group. Receipts go out on WhatsApp, pay is worked out from attendance, and the month's fees, payroll, expenses and net sit on one screen.
